Ever since I was young I have wanted to work with animals, even though as a kid I was terrified of them. When I got my first dog in 2nd grade, I was able to get over my fear of animals and now I can’t get enough of them. I grew up in Tampa, FL and moved to Orlando in 2010 to pursue my Biology degree. I graduated in 2014 and decided to take a break from further schooling. One day, I’d hope to go back to school and become a dog trainer.
I got my first chance to work with animals after college when I saw a volunteer position was open to work at Back to Nature. It gave me a chance to see if I wanted to work with exotic or domestic animals. It was a great experience, but I decided to stick with domestic. I also had a chance to work at a daycare for dogs and it just confirmed that I’m most happy when I’m working with animals.
When I was searching for a job in the veterinary field, I stopped in to apply at LVC and the moment I stepped into the building I knew this was the place I wanted to work at. The atmosphere was welcoming and calm and everyone had a smiling face with a warm greeting when I walked in. Working here has been a great learning experience so far, both personally and medically. I couldn’t ask for a better team to work with.
At home I have a beautiful pit mix named Sophie. I have had her since she was 3 months old. She is very shy when you first meet her, but if you give her some time she will warm up to you and is the sweetest girl. I couldn’t ask for a better companion.
