Dr. Rick Marrinson
I was one of those unfortunate children who always wanted a pet but grew up in a home where my parents held, and frequently exercised, veto power. For years I brought home any cat or dog that was not tied down and repeatedly begged, “Can I keep him?” I’m not sure if my persistence was a virtue or an annoyance, but when I was twelve, my parents relented and I got my first dog. The experience was everything I’d hoped for and solidified my love of animals. To this day, memories of Molly can bring tears to my eyes.
In high school I happened into an after-school job at a veterinary clinic. After three years of assistant work, including every weekend and every holiday, I understood my calling. My undergraduate work was done at both Kansas State University and at Oklahoma State University (OSU). From 1981 through 1985 I attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at OSU. By the time of graduation, I had also gotten married and had my first child. After a lifetime in the Midwest, we were ready for a new environment and promptly moved to Central Florida.
Following a brief stint at Howell Branch Animal Hospital in Winter Park, I became an associate veterinarian at Sanlando Springs Animal Hospital (SSAH) in Longwood. In 1993 I became a partner at SSAH and in 1994, together with my partners, purchased Longwood Veterinary Clinic taking over its daily operations as the Medical Director. In 2003 I left the partnership and assumed sole ownership of LVC.
Along those years my wife had our second child and we have now loved and lost two dogs, four cats, and one Bearded Dragon. My kids are both grown, have flown the nest, and have become incredible, independent, successful adults. My wife and I now share our home with Harper the Boxer mix (our newest addition), Otter, Hailey, and Clover the calico cat. Beyond my professional life my loves are photography, travel, and kayaking Florida’s native waterways.
In December of 2021, we partnered with United Veterinary Care. While we remain autonomous in our medical decisions, policies, and procedures, UVC works behind the scenes enhancing the great care our patients and families already rely on, plus providing support that allow us to hire and retain the most talented and dedicated people.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have a career that not only rewards me, but defines me. The relationships I’ve enjoyed with so many clients and their pets are a joy beyond description. I thank everyone associated with LVC for the opportunity to serve you, am humbled by the trust you’ve allowed me, and am grateful for the chance to work at something I truly love.

Dr. Kelsey Marble
I grew up in a small town in central Alabama. I’ve always loved animals and medicine, but I thought I wanted to be a human physician. It wasn’t until my second year of college (with the urging of my parents) that I shadowed a veterinarian. I was instantly hooked!
I obtained my undergraduate degree in Microbiology from Auburn University (War Eagle!) in 2009, and continued my education, graduating from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Following graduation, I moved to North Carolina for a year and practiced at a small animal hospital. My husband and I moved to Florida in July of 2014.
I truly love the bond animals share with their people, and I consider it a privilege to be a part of that. My special interests include: Dermatology, internal medicine, and preventative care, though I truly enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son Waylon, two cats (Bow Bow and Tubby Monstah), and our dog (Muffin). We also like to travel, and of course, we LOVE Auburn football.
I am very excited to be with the wonderful team at Longwood Veterinary Clinic, and I look forward to serving you and your pets!

Dr. Carrie Conley
I’m a native Floridian that spent 10 years in the Midwest (Muncie, IN and Chicago, IL) enjoying the changing seasons, winter coats, and endless cornfields.
I returned to pursue a veterinary career, which is really just a continuation of all the animal-related jobs I held previously (dog walker, pet sitter, pet store employee).
I went to veterinary school at the wonderful University of Florida, putting that English major and linguistics Master’s degree to excellent use, and am sorry to say that I never went to a football game my entire time there.
I’m very excited to have joined the excellent team at Longwood Veterinary Clinic where I look forward to coming to work and have the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine. LVC encourages a collaborative approach among the veterinarians when dealing with complicated cases, and I’m fortunate to work with a fantastic group of people.
I have two cats, a dog, named Cricket, and a parrot Marcel.

Dr. Kelly Evans
I believe that animals play an essential part in our wellbeing and happiness, and I like that I can help them as long as possible.
I am originally from Miami and have moved around some, but am back to my home state of Florida! I have had all kinds of pets growing up…including cats, hamsters, a mouse and fish.
I live with my 2 dogs, a beagle mix, Macie and a border collie mix, Bailey. While Macie prefers to just curl up on the couch with me, the always active Bailey loves agility training in our spare time and has been with me since my third year in Vet School. Both of them love our neighborhood walks and visiting our family any chance we get.
I graduated from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!!) and am also certified in Aquatic Animal Medicine. My particular interests of study are oral health care (dentistry), surgery, and aquatic medicine.
I love reading, photography, traveling, scuba diving, and visiting the local theme parks whenever I have the chance.

Dr. Janae Umbaugh
I graduated with my DVM from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, WA. As part of the WIMU program, I did my first two years of vet school at Utah State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Logan, UT.
Prior to vet school I got my Bachelor of Science in Animal Behavior and Biology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX.
I was born in Utah and lived in Evanston, Wyoming for 12 years before moving to Austin, Texas.
I met my husband while he was stationed at Fort Hood, TX, although he is originally from Port Richey, FL. He followed me to Utah and Washington for vet school, so after graduation we moved back to Florida to be closer to his family.
We moved here with our two kitties that we adopted in Utah – Dezirae (Dezi) and Danielle (Dani).

Dr. David Franco
I was born in North Bergen, New Jersey and moved to a small town in Colombia at an early age. As a kid I enjoyed going out to the country and catching all sorts of critters. Clearly, that did not change as I grew up. Now, I get to live my dream of spending my time working with animals.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in animal science from The Pennsylvania State University and completed veterinary school at Ohio State University in 2022. After dealing with many heavy winters and snow storms I decided to look for warmth in Florida.
I currently have a 4-year-old German shepherd, 2 snakes, and an Asian Water Monitor. I enjoy working with exotic animals including pocket pets and reptiles (even the venomous ones). My main interests are surgery, cardiology, and neurology.

Abby
Practice Manager
I believe we need animals more than they need us. I believe we are their voice and are to treat them with the same love and compassion they wholeheartedly show us.
I was born and raised in Owensboro Kentucky, but when I was 13 years old my family moved us to Panama City Beach, Florida. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, so in 2014 I moved to Orlando to explore my opportunities.
I have two cats, Elliot and Tegan. Elliot is my mischievous boy, while Tegan is my golden child (she truly can do no wrong). I also have two dogs, Jay and Benny. Jay is the world’s sweetest yorkie and Benny is a golden doodle puppy who never seems to stop growing!
In my free time I love going to Disney or Universal, and though I do enjoy a quiet night in with my partner and our animals, I love being outside and on the go!
I have been in the industry since 2014. After searching for the right Veterinary Clinic, I was lucky enough to become a part of LVC. Shortly after, I became the Office Manager which is where I realized my true passion for educating clients and helping their pets. In October of 2021, I became the clinic’s Practice Manager. In this role I knew I not only wanted to make a bigger impact by supporting the team, but our clients as well. It is my hope to ensure the best service and care to you and your pet.

I believe all animals deserve the chance to feel safe, loved, and taken care of. Unconditional love received from a pet has no match in our lives.
I have been in Florida all my life and grew up around dogs and horses. Currently, I have an Australian Cattle dog named Bean!
In my free time I love hiking with my dog, mountain biking, working with cars, or riding horses.
I have been in the Veterinary industry since 2023. I have worked and cared for dogs in the past, but LVC is my first in clinic job.
While I am pursuing a degree in nursing, I truly love being a part of the LVC team. It means so much to be able to help animals and their humans! It brightens my day to see all the different dogs and cats that come through our doors. This field is so rewarding, and I love being able to help make a difference!

I believe that pets are family and that is why every animal I encounter I treat as if they are my own.
I am from a small town in Iowa. I moved to Florida in 1993 with my mom and brother. I am married to my best friend and together we have a beautiful, funny, amazing daughter. We also share our home with our adopted, perfect Pit-bull mix named Bindi Boo.
I have been a Veterinary Technician at Longwood Veterinary Clinic since 2002. My favorite part of my job is educating clients on how to best care for their furry family members. I have a special interest in educating owners about arthritis and how we can help pets live longer, more comfortable lives. I also have a big soft spot for senior pets. Something about that grey muzzle is just so adorable to me.

I believe that each animal is a soul that deserves to be honored. When I look into an animal’s eyes, I see a being that longs to be nourished, listened, and cared for. Attending to their particular needs and characteristics we become better humans.
I was lucky to be born into a family of animal lovers. I’ve had animals from the day I was born and throughout my childhood in Brazil. It was only a natural course for me to be also involved with animals professionally.
I joined Longwood Veterinary Clinic in 2001. Beginning as a Pet Care Specialist, I gained hands-on experience to supplement my Animal Technology schooling. From there, I’ve become a technician, and later on Head Technician.
For a few years held a Marketing position, developing the monthly newsletter and linking Longwood Vet Clinic to many Social Media channels. Since 2019 I’ve been dedicated solely to surgeries.
In my personal life, my husband and I have one son, Petrus, who served in the Army as a paratrooper in Alaska and still lives there; 6 cats (Mitsu, Tesla Maria Broomhilda, Digory, Rumi Khalil Watts, Buckaroo Bonzai Volts, and Unagi Gloria); and Stefano, a Bearded Dragon. If I manage to have some free time, it would be spent reading, rehearsing for theatrical plays, crafting, scrapbooking or researching my family’s genealogy.

I believe that we learn the true meaning of unconditional love from our pets.
I was born and raised in Florida, but when I turned 18 I moved to Washington DC for a few years. It was there that I started my career in the pet industry. In 2006, I got a job at the Rockville Humane Society in Maryland. While working there, I developed a few technical skills, like drawing blood and giving vaccines. Working there inspired me to get a career diploma as a Veterinary Assistant in 2007.
I have worked at a few other camping facilities and came to Longwood Veterinary Clinic in 2009. I was the Pet Care Manager from 2011-2021 and in February 2021, I made the transition to Veterinary Technician. The team at LVC has become more like a second family to me and I truly enjoy coming to work every day. I am passionate about pet nutrition and flea control and enjoy the opportunity to educate clients and my team on these topics.
I am married and have 2 boys. Currently, my family has a cat named April who was brought in as a stray in November 2020.

I believe that a house is not a home without a pet.
I joined LVC as a Veterinary Technician in 2015 and quickly felt right at home working alongside a team full or supportive and dedicated people who strive to bring the best possible care to all pets.

I believe that animals deserve the same respect, love, and attention that we give to each other. I believe in second chances and never giving up on hope. This is what has drawn me to Longwood Veterinary Clinic.
Growing up I was always searching for critters, both big and small. I had everything from fish and snakes to chinchillas, rabbits and birds. Having so many different types of pets made me realize that I want to work with animals every day. I am currently attending UCF to pursue my goal of becoming a zoologist. With this degree, I plan on working at Busch Gardens to not only care for animals but to educate the public on the importance of preserving our environment.
In 2016, I was given the opportunity to work for LVC as a Pet Care Specialist. This position created personal connections with every “camper” and patient I interacted with. Those connections carried over to my current position as a Veterinary Technician. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and skills with team members who share the same passion for animals that I have.

I believe that animals were created to bring happiness into people’s lives.
I am originally from Puyallup Washington and moved to Florida in 2014. I moved here with my mom, brother, and our 2 dogs. We always had pets in the house and bonding with them growing up was the best part. I started working with animals when I was just 14 years old and have been in the Veterinary industry since 2019. I graduated from high school and currently in school for Pre-Veterinary science . I hope to one day go to school to become an Exotic Veterinarian.
I have three dogs; Maverick, Goose, and Edd who was brought to LVC as a stray in 2019. I also have an aquatic yellow belly turtle named Stevie and a Sulcata Tortoise named Tonka.
In my free time I love to play volleyball and take Maverick to the dog beach, even though he hates the waves.
I joined the veterinary industry because I love being able to help animals in need and be able to give them some ease at their visits. I originally was in Pet Care, but recently made the change to a technician. I love being at LVC and being able to treat every patient like family!

I believe that an animal can also be your soul mate and I have found mine. It is the most wonderful feeling in the entire world.
I am originally from a small country outside of Russia and have lived in Virginia, Maine, Michigan and now Florida. My husband and I moved here to central Florida in 2020 with our pets.
We have a rescue dog named Peluche, a yellow cat named Kuno whom we’ve had since he was a small kitten, and a tuxedo kitten named Gus Gus who we rescued from one of our clients here.
Growing up, I always had dogs and/or cats as pets and would also often rescue and foster wild life animals such as piglets, multiple species of birds, squirrels, opossums as well as house pets; cats and dogs and bring them home to take care of, which is also why I got into this field and always come back to it, I love helping and healing animals. I have been in the Veterinary industry off and on since 2008. I used to professionally ride horses in shows and other friendly competitions and at times volunteered at the farms and/or stables.
During my free time, my husband and I enjoy going to the beach or exploring the sunshine state through hiking, kayaking, etc. We also enjoy staying at home with our pets or hanging out with our friends.

I believe animals are the world’s gift to us. They are the ones who can’t speak for themselves, so we must be their voice and guardians.
I’ve had a passion for animals from a very young age. Currently, my fiancé and I have five dogs and two cats.
I have been in the veterinary industry since 2020. My goal is to one day open my own animal rescue.
In my free time, I love listening to music, and being outside or at the beach.
I have been with LVC as of August 2022. I truly love the people I work alongside, the animals we see, and the environment that the team has created here.

I believe that when you work with animals, your passion and love for them should shine from the inside out and be displayed in everything you do.
I have grown up in central Florida my entire life and I love it. I was raised in a house with my parents, little sister, and my cat who we adopted as a kitten when I was born and was my best animal friend as I grew up.
In my free time I love spending time with friends, biking around my neighborhood and on trails, hiking and backpacking in state and national forests, and reading.
The thing I love about working at Longwood Veterinary Clinic is how willing every employee is to be helpful and uplifting to each other.
My love for animals is what inspired me to go into the veterinary industry. Ever since I was young I dreamed of working with animals and assisting with their health and happiness. My passion even lead me to become a vegetarian, and I have been since 2016.

I believe we must be the voice for the voiceless.
I got my start as a Client Care Specialist in 2016. I am a Florida born resident who grew up with many cats and dogs of my own. Although I’m an animal lover, I would say it would have to be cats I relate to the most (just don’t tell my dogs Broadie, or Smuckers about that)!
When I’m not helping you schedule appointments, answering your calls, or speaking to our vets about your babies…I’m at the beach or theme park with my family.
I chose to get into this industry because of my love for animals that started out as a child, rescuing every cat and kitten in need within a 5 mile radius. It is an absolute pleasure to care for your fur babies as if they were my own.

I believe that every living thing, large and small, deserves a warm smile and a comforting pat.
You never know the difference you can make for pets and their parents just by comforting them. That’s really the reason I decided I would get into the veterinary industry. This is the first time I’ve worked for a veterinarian, and I am just loving it! I had dogs and cats growing up and this is just a wonderful extension of all the love and comfort they gave me.
Originally from Slocomb Alabama, I moved to Florida in June of 2018. I received my Associates in Science from Wallace Community College in Alabama in 2013. I live with my Fiancé Lukas, and our four cats.

I believe that animals are good for the soul.
I am originally from Blythewood, South Carolina. My husband and I moved to Florida in 2020.
We have three pets. Sadie, my female boxer who lives up to the boxer stamina. Lassie, my sweet Sable Collie, and Nova my male tabby cat.
I love the outdoors and spending my free time at home with my friends and family.
I have been in the Veterinary industry since 2013. I have spent a lot of time in animal care and was previously a supervisor of a boarding kennel. I wanted to stay close to animals, but find a place where I could educate clients and support their needs as well. That is how I found LVC.
I started my career here in February of 2021. I have always had a passion for animals and love talking with their people. I love to travel and will eventually reside in the north, but thoroughly enjoy my time here in Florida and at LVC every day.

I believe to have a pet is to open yourself up to unconditional love (accompanied with profound joy) and every pet deserves that in return.
I was born and raised in Florida and growing up we always had dogs and cats of our own. My best friend is my cat named Tiger, who I also call Bean.
I have worked in this field since 2020. In my free time, I love hiking with my boyfriend’s dog Elliot, playing video games, working out, or hanging out with my friends!
I love working at LVC because everyone here puts the patient first and strives to give them the best care. Being around people who share that passion for animal care is the environment I want to be in!

I believe that animals give us a purpose in life, someone to care for and love unconditionally.
I am originally from Pennsylvania and just recently moved to Florida with my sister. In my free time I love hiking with my boxer mix Axel, as well as painting and making art.
We have many different pets in our household! We have dogs, cats, ferrets, and a chameleon.
I have been in the veterinary field since 2021, and will soon be in school for pre-vet.
I love being a part of LVC for many reasons. I love the team I work with, and also the level of care we all have for the pets.
I knew I wanted to be a voice for animals. They cannot always tell us what they need, and it has always been important for me to be an advocate for them.
I have always had a passion for animals and love this field. Though one day, my dream is to have my own animal rescue.
